The company’s service territory encompasses approximately 20,000 square miles in diverse terrain through-out Central and Southern California, from Visalia to the Mexican border.
Sempra Generation provides electric power to markets in North America. The company owns and operates a fleet of clean-burning natural gas-fired power plants, and a thin-film photovoltaic facility in Nevada and is also a partner in a wind-generation project in Indiana. Sempra Generation is developing additional facilities that generate power from renewable sources such as solar and wind energy.
Sempra Pipelines & Storage develops and operates natural gas infrastructure throughout North America. The company and its affiliates operate and/or own more than 2,000 miles of transmission pipeline and 11 billion cubic feet (Bcf) of storage capacity. The company also has plans to ultimately develop more than 70 Bcf of storage. Sempra LNG is a leading importer of liquefied natural gas (LNG) and operates receipt terminals in North America. The company developed the first LNG receipt terminal on the west coast of North America in Baja California, Mexico, which began commercial operations in May 2008. A second terminal on the Gulf Coast of Louisiana began commercial operations in July 2009. The combined capacity of these two facilities is 2.5 billion cubic feet of natural gas a day.
